This conference poster presentation illustrates that by stepping beyond the traditional borders of the library and engaging with local communities, a tertiary library is able to play its part in fostering and developing information literacy, art, culture, and language in the wider community. This also provides positive exposure for the library service and the tertiary institute as a whole and could result in higher student retention rate in the future.

The collection is a handpicked selection of new and recommended resources and includes print, multimedia and digital items driven by feedback and suggestions from our members.

The 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is being celebrated around the world this year and there will be special events at the National Library of Australia and several State Libraries on 10 December 2018, in partnership with the UN Association of Australia.
