This article discusses how libraries are connecting with their communities online with the development of a dedicated community Minecraft server.

In 2021, ALIA supported the Declaration statement in support of literacy and numeracy for all adult Australians alongside Adult Learning Australia, the Australian Council for Adult Literacy, the Australian Council of Social Services, the Australian Coalition for Education and Development, the Reading Writing hotline, the Australian Neighbourhood Houses and Centres Association and the Literacy for Life Foundation. 

This submission is made on behalf of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) in response to TEQSA’s draft text for the proposed legislative instrument relating to the quality of research generated by accredited higher education providers.

This report was created following a meeting of eight staff of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) in Canberra who participated in a conversation about how a united library field can tackle the challenges of the future. Together we represent 395 years of library experience, as all of us have been library users from an early age. 

This survey was conducted in 2017 to elicite views on how a united library field can tackle the challenges of the future.
