A brave experiment in community-led programming [video]

The program started as a brave experiment (granted support on a 6 month trial-basis) and evolved across a 12 month period to become a radical method for community led programs in Melbourne. Yarra Libraries worked with not-for-profit organisations to build panels and address topical issues from the Stolen Generations to Manus Island and detainment.

Australia has a rampant zine scene, and libraries and archives have been collecting them for a while now. Zine librarianship in the professional sense is growing in the UK and the US, and Australia can follow in their footsteps.

The program provided an opportunity for CLS staff from across three campus libraries to share knowledge and work together as a team.
